Subconscious: – Hey, hey dude, hey hey! Wake the f*** up!

Conscious: – Do you ever sleep? F*** off! We have to work tomorrow and I need to pay attention to everything!

Subconscious: – I know that, but what is love?

Conscious: – Come on… We’re married… you know what that is.

Subconscious: – I know, but after all these years is it the same? Does love ever change? Love is what people feel at the beginning of their relationship or what they feel after 10 years of being in a relationship?

Conscious: – The answer of that question does it really make a difference now at 2 in the morning?

Subconscious: – It’s just a curiosity of mine. I’m a curious being, you know??

Conscious: – Yes, I know. Last night you wondered if dogs enjoy the taste of their own poop. As always, you’re a thinker! But since I’m awake now and I have nothing better to do with my life, I’ll answer your question. Love is the feeling that someone or something is the best and most important thing you have in life. Period!

Subconscious: – That seems pretty simple. Then why is it so complicated? Why do people make poems and songs about love if it’s so simple? And how can someone love multiple things in the same place?

Conscious: – That’s easy! The explanation might be simple, but the feeling is complex. We can easily summarize the idea, but we cannot so easily transfer the feeling. The way people feel love is different from one person to another. And we can love multiple things because we have multiple things we need in life. Just like we need both food and water.

Subconscious: – That’s deep! What kind of sleeping pills did you took in the evening? It makes you say funky things… Anyway, do you love me, dude?

Conscious: – Only if you let me sleep.

Subconscious: – You know I can’t do that, right? So I guess you don’t love me?

Conscious: – Oh well…
